RF Design Engineer

Futures Recruitment Services are recruiting for a brilliant role within our client located in Greater Manchester.  We are seeking a full time RF Design Engineer who will support the company in designing RF products at board level.

Our client designs and manufactures components for the world’s largest communication equipment companies, they makes their own resins, stamp, press and paint their metal and composite products in their own factory to provide the highest levels of quality control for their products.

This means someone with an eye for detail that works to a high quality would make an ideal candidate. The business has been designing and making communication equipment for over 40 years and earned the loyalty of partners around the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design new and innovative RF products at board level with minimum supervision

  • Interact with other development members, mechanical and software engineering and operations engineering to ensure that requirements of the complete product life cycle are met

  • Produce and maintain test documentation associate with products, including specifications, test schedules and compliance matrices

  • Carry out testing duties (including environmental testing)

  • Perform technical investigations to provide data for problem assessment, design improvements and support developments of solutions to technical issues

  • Support re-designs of exiting products in the company’s portfolio

  • Carry out design reviews and contribute to documenting progress for key stakeholders

  • Contribute to the transfer of new products from development into mass-production

  • Interact with third parties, such as customers, suppliers and manufacturing partners, to understand the needs and relay capabilities

 

Desired Expertise:

  • Track record of designing RF products at board level with minimum supervision

  • Develops and refines new skills rapidly, be a good team player, enthusiastic, willing to share information with and learn from peers.

  • Demonstrates ability to work to tight timescales and have proven track record of delivering innovative products on time, within budget and to spec

  • Experience of using CAD simulation tools including AWR Microwave Office, CST Microwave Studio, combined with the layout of complex RF PCBs and generation of related schematic and other manufacturing documentation is essential.

  • Has a Degree or higher qualification in Electronic Engineering and practical design experience in RF and electronic design.

  • RF system and circuit design, Microwave system and design, High speed digital & microprocessors, Test automation using LabView or VEE, RF test and measurement: network and spectrum analysis

Background in consumer electronics/ design for mass production
