Futures Recruitment Services are supporting a local council who are seeking two surveyors on a short term contract up to 4 months.  The role will be to support the Repairs and Maintenance service, achieving excellent performance and quality as well as value for money.

You will provide technical support both in the office within the residential services team and on-site, representing the council delivering repair service inspections.

 

Deliver cost-effective repairs, void works and planned maintenance with a holistic approach across all aspects of the repairs and maintenance service.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Surveyor:

  • Monitor overall service through key performance indicators.

  • Identify areas for improvement and make agreed changes.

  • Ensure compliance around cost, quality and satisfaction and liaise on a day to day basis with key contract personnel across a broad range of contracts.

  • Conduct inspections to a broad range of contract elements.

  • Issue and supervise works orders as instructed and in accordance with Department procedures.

  • Complete post-inspection orders in accordance with Department procedure and a compliance ethic.  Ensure invoices are checked for accuracy and processed in accordance with council procedures.

  • Thoroughly and competently handle all correspondence and communication.  Resolve complaints, both verbally and written in line with the council procedures.

  • To keep up to date with legislation and best practice in relation to all aspects of compliance.  

  • Communicate effectively and openly with staff and customers ensuring that engagement as far as possible across all levels.

 

Essential skills required for the Surveyor role:

  • Building or Construction qualification

  • Previous experience as Maintenance or Repairs Officer is highly advantageous

  • Sound knowledge of housing repairs

  • Raising and auditing electronic orders.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation/Risk Management

  • Excellent communication skills

  • An enthusiastic and motivated personality

  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty and credibility at all times.
