Systems Engineer

Liverpool, London, Croydon & Chichester

£350 - £420 per day

Futures Recruitment Services are delighted to be supporting their global company across three jurisdiction here in the UK. We are recruiting for System Engineers to join the teams based in Liverpool, Croydon, London and Chichester.

Due to the recent acquisition we are seeking skilled and knowledge systems engineer with a strong technical background.

The Systems Engineer (SE) is responsible for the engineering and support aspects of application middleware components. The SE oversees the technical design, development and maintenance of application infrastructure components as well as maintaining engineering design standards and a stable application infrastructure environment. The SE provides coordination to ensure implementation and monitoring of applications as well as analysing and projecting long-range capacity requirements. The SE will deal with system related incidents and problems, upgrades, patching, provisioning, configuring and disaster recovery and will be required to collaborate with a variety of technical teams.

We are ideally looking for candidates with 4-5 years experience in a RedHat Linux and or Windows, IIS and .NET based middleware environment, preferably with a scope of responsibility that spans multiple world geographies and at 2 years experience supporting a multi-tiered web environment.

  • Process improvement initiatives

Required technical skills for the Systems Engineer:

  • Experience with some of Linux fundamentals, Apache, nginx webserver, javascript and or Windows server.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies and environments as we as containerization

  • Good awareness of Microsoft .NET technology,

  • Knowledge of patching procedures for RedHat, Windows OS, .NET, etc

  • Experience in at least one end-user ticket management system.

  • Good knowledge of an industry standard change management process.

  • Exposure to Mircosoft SQL server 2008/2012/2016 and Oracle RAC is preferred

  • Understanding of network troubleshooting

Due to the nature of the role we are requiring some flexibility with the working hours. Extended working hours and potential weekend work maybe required by prior agreement.
